Atlético Benidrom Club Deportivo Announces New Management and Control Acquisition
Canadian Group acquires full interest in the Club that includes the men’s divisional team, an advanced academy with over 25 teams, and a U19 Liga Nacional Juvenil team.
BENIDORM, Alicante, August 18, 2022 – Atlético Benidorm Club Deportivo (“the Club”) today announced that a Canadian Group headed by Azeem Amir and Francis Glasman has been granted complete control of the Club. Under the terms of the agreement, the group becomes the Club’s sole investor, which includes the clubs first team and the academy comprising of over 25 male and female teams, including a U19 Liga National Juvenil team. In addition to the management of the club, Mr. Azeem Amir and Mr. Francis Glasman will continue to be the founders of GGFI Group and all its subsidiaries.

We have seen and experienced far too many organizations who falsely portray themselves as being authorities in providing opportunities to players in Europe, and we will be the ones who change that.”
Mr. Amir is an intuitive, creative and ‘out of the box’ visual thinker who excels at helping organizations comprehend and build their vision while captivating their audience through enriched creative concepts with over 30 years of football experience in North America, he possesses a proven track record of success and innovative concepts and projects.
Mr. Francis Glasman, also known as Mr. Soccer, is the pioneer of youth development in addition to having founded and associated high profile football clubs around the world. His accolades and accomplishment through over 60 years of football experience with youth development, representation and management is rarely superseded by other professionals.
Mr. Amir continued: “Our initiatives and objectives are simple, tried, tested and true. We acknowledge and understand all that has been done by the current team at Atlético Benidorm and will supplement their initiatives with invigorating and untried initiatives to grow the entirety of the organization – the first team and the academy of players. Through Mr. Francis Glasman underpinnings of teaching the innovative technique of development and training and his experience in international initiatives we will augment the best the world has to offer for all our players. Upon the discussion over the process of taking over the club Mr. Amir added: “I’d like to thank the existing staff, organizational board and committee and volunteers, who will stay onboard and continue their work with us in different forms under our new management and organization, and individuals like Mr. Russell Pointon who presented us with this opportunity of managing and controlling Atlético Benidorm, Mr. Pablo Candela and Mr. Paul Body for extending their hospitality and making this transition a seamless process.”

The club competes at the Valencian Divisiones Regionales de Fútbol. The Liga Nacional Juvenil is the second level of the Spanish football league system for youth layers 19 years old and under. It is administered by the RFEF and regional football federations.
